Caring for Your Iron Antler Knife

It’s essential to care for your knife to ensure it lasts for many years of hard use in the field. Even though our blades are Cerakote-coated for superior corrosion resistance and paired with durable G10 handles, proper maintenance will keep them performing like new.

  • Clean after each use – Wipe down your blade and handle with a soft cloth to remove dirt, moisture, and debris.

  • Dry thoroughly – Always dry your knife completely before storage to prevent rust or moisture damage.

  • Apply Pelican Paste – For the ultimate protection, we recommend our Pelican Paste, a 100% food-safe, all-natural hardening wax that shields your blade steel from the elements and prevents rust—perfect for carbon steel and Damascus knives.

  • Store safely – Keep your knife in its Kydex sheath or a dry, ventilated location. Avoid long-term storage in damp environments.

  • Sharpen as needed – Regularly maintain your edge with a quality sharpening system—or take advantage of our Lifetime Sharpening Service, where we’ll keep your blade razor-sharp for as long as you own it.

With the right care, your Iron Antler knife will be a dependable tool for decades—whether in the backcountry, in your pack, or on the job.
